Former Arsenal manager Arsen Wenger commented on Manchester United transformation under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Despite yesterday’s home defeat from PSG (0:2), Solskjaer’s statistics at the Red Devils’ helm remains more than impressive. Before the match in the Champions League, Ole Gunnar won 10 matches and played a draw for once.

According to Wenger, the fact that United were opposed by modest Cardiff, Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Newcastle and Reading in Solskjaer’s first matches helped him a lot. Those victories gave the team a big boost.

Nevertheless, Wenger acknowledged that Solskjaer’s arrival had given the team the necessary attitude and impetus. And even though the next 5 games after Mourinho’s departure were against fairly easy opponents, the team still showed a new level of football.

According to Wenger, each victory gives you extra confidence. Therefore, it was critically important for Ole Gunnar to win his first games at the helm of United.
