Vertonghen: Tottenham can beat anyone

Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen is convinced that his team is able to beat anyone in Europe.

On Wednesday evening, Spurs will hold the Champions League 1\8 finals first leg against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley. Pochettino’s team beat Dortmund twice last season.

Also, Tottenham have achieved positive results against Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus in recent years, and the experience gained made Vertonghen believe that Spurs could reach the quarter-finals for the first time since 2011.

Jan is sure that his team is able to surprise any opponent. They showed it in the two UCL matches against Real Madrid last year – Tottenham looked better than the team that won the trophy later.

That was why all the players had a taste of annoying sadness at the fact that they couldn’t play even better. This experience will allow Pochettino’s wards to manage their chances better this year.
