Valencia will leave United as a free agent at the end of the season
Manchester United captain Antonio Valencia understood the fact that he would have to leave Old Trafford at the end of this season, after 10 years at the club.
Valencia was marked only by eight appearances in the Red Devils’ starting line-up in the current season. After Jose Mourinho’s departure, with whom Antonio was rumored to be at odds, the 33-year-old Ecuadorian’s situation has not improved.
The defender remained out of United’s roster in eight of nine matches under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Antonio even didn’t get the opportunity to play in the recent FA Cup match against Arsenal.
The Manchester Evening News has learned from its sources that Valencia does not see any prospects for himself at United.
And although the Devils have the option to extend the former Wigan player’s contract for 12 months, Valencia expects to leave Old Trafford as a free agent at the end of the season.
One of the oldest United players isn’t going to end his career and hopes to find another club for himself for the next season.
