Manchester United defeated Bournemouth with the score of 4:1 in the Premier League 20th round match. The meeting took place at the Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester.

The Red Devils defeated Cardiff City (5:1) and beat Huddersfield Town (3:1) in two previous Premier League matches. Thus, Man United scored 12 goals in the last three meetings in the league. The last time the club showed similar performance in the period from 21 to 31 December of 2011.

United achieved the third victory in a row under the leadership of Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer, who succeeded Jose Mourinho as the club’s manager. After the match, Manchester United, having gained 35 points, remained in sixth place in the Premier League standings.

After Arsenal’s defeat by Liverpool at Enfield (5:1), the gap between the teams was reduced to 3 points. Now the fight for a place in the Champions League zone is seen as an absolutely real challenge for United.
