United hope to conclude new contracts with De Gea and Rashford until May
The current executive vice-chairman of Manchester United, Ed Woodward, hopes to agree on new contracts with goalkeeper David De Gea and striker Marcus Rashford no later than May.
The Red Devils concluded new deals with Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Ashley Young, Luke Shaw, Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay.
However, the issue with the future of some other players has not yet been resolved.
At the moment, United are trying to prevent Ander Herrera and Juan Mata’s deptrure from the club, and also expect to reach a compromise with their first-choice keeper De Gea and Rashford to turn into the main central striker.
According to rumors, David is not against extending his stay at Old Trafford, but he wants the club to confirm his status as a team leader and one of the world’s best goalkeepers with the help of a new contract.
