United are watching Moussa Dembele
Manchester United are closely watching Lyon’s striker Moussa Dembele.
Strengthening the central striker position can become one of priorities for the Red Devils head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the summer transfer window, especially if Romelu Lukaku decides to leave the club.
Under the Norwegian specialist, Marcus Rashford has staked out the main centre striker’s place. Lukaku’s agent Federico Pastorello hinted at his client’s departure from Manchester.
However, even if Lukaku remains, Solskjaer won’t abandon the idea of acquiring a new striker. The Norwegian has already demonstrated that he, unlike his predecessor, is ready to play with two forwards.
According to the Daily Mirror, Dembele may become United’s main candidate to strengthen the line of attack. Moussa has scored 18 goals for Lyon, taking into account all the competitions, after his transfer from Celtic last summer.
Scouts of the club from Old Trafford are impressed with the 22-year-old Frenchman displays and rate of his goals scored, taking into account the number of minutes played, and are now ready to recommend Moussa’s purchase to Solskjaer.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery is also showing interest in Dembele, but it will be difficult for him to compete with United unless the Gunners get into the Champions League for the next season.
