United announced renewal of the contract with Smalling

Chris Smalling has signed a new long-term contract with Manchester United.

The Red Devils announced the renewal of the contract with Chris Smalling.

The new agreement with the central defender is valid until summer 2022 with the renewal option for another year. 

Smallling’s previous contract with Mourinho’s team was calculated until summer 2019. He has played 18 matches and scored a goal in the current season.

Chris Smalling said:

“This is my ninth season with the club and I am delighted to be continuing my progression with this team.

“It is a real honour to play for Manchester United and we are all now concentrating on the busy schedule of games throughout the festive period.”
