Manchester United plan to strengthen the center of defense in the summer.

According to Manchester Evening News, the short-list of candidates includes 3 players from Serie A: Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, Milan Škriniar from Inter and Joachim Andersen from Sampdoria.

In this case, the club bosses are ready to fork out, if necessary, not excluding the possibility of breaking the world record transfer fee for a defender (75 million for Virgil van Dijk). The amount could reach 100 million if Napoli agree to release Koulibaly.

At the moment, the team has Victor Lindelöf, Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones and Eric Bailly for this position. United plan to part
with one or two of them after the acquisition of a novice.
