UEFA Champions League: Bayern Munich vs Liverpool – preview, line-ups, prediction

The first match of one of the most intriguing and stellar pairs of the Champions League Round of 16 was without a goal.

Liverpool, being the favorite of the match and on the rights of the hosts, played sharper, but did not achieve anything.

Bayern successfully extinguished all attacking attempts of the home team, but didn’t hurry to aggravate the situation, it was the Munich machine that was pressed on their outsider status, so they came to England not to lose and succeeded in this.

On the other hand, the recent draw did not give the Bavarians too much, as they did not score a very important away goal for such a clash, and now they will be forced to play to win at home. Perhaps, that is why bookmakers still call Liverpool the favorite.

Liverpool managed to play four games, lose first place in the Premier League standings and significantly complicate their fate in the fight for the gold for the last 3 weeks.

Munich won last Bundesliga’s match against Wolfsburg 6:0 and are first in the standings on 57 points after 25 matches.

Possible line-ups:

Liverpool (4-3-3): Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Fabinho, Milner, Salah, Mane, Firmino

Bayern (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Rafinha, Boateng, Hummels, Alaba; Javi Martinez, Thiago; Gnabry, James, Ribery; Lewandowski

Venue: Allianz Arena, Munich
