UEFA Champions League: Ajax vs Real Madrid – match preview
Ajax and Real held recent matches in the national championships, showing a different game, and producing different results.
Ajax lost two out of the last five meetings in the Eredivisie.
Netherlands’ giant Ajax defeated VVV-Venlo 6:0 on February 2. It is interesting that the score was minimal before the break. But in a week, and exactly before the UCLbattle with Real, the Jews managed to lose to Heracles (1:0).
The small joy of Amsterdam is that PSV Eindhoven also lost points, playing a draw. But the main thing is that Ajax players are not in a good shape now, while Los Blancos are coming to their first leg with an excellent mood.
Real also had potentially much more complicated games in the Primera. But the match with Atletico exceeded all expectations. Real Madrid’s victory was well deserved.
Surprisingly, Los Galacticos surpassed Simeone’s team even in its traditionally strong aspects of football – in the battle of characters and in the game in the air, where Sergio Ramos, Casemiro and Raphaël Varane did not have any rivals.
The Dutch side have lost their last six matches against Los Blancos, conceding 20 goals and scoring just twice. So, the Madrid side are also likely to win tonight’s battle in Amsterdam.
