Tottenham see Maddison as possible replacement for Eriksen
Leicester midfielder James Maddison joined Tottenham’s transfer goals list for the next summer.
According to the Daily Mirror’s exclusive material, the interest of the London club in 22-year-old Maddison is due to concerns about Christian Eriksen’s future.
The Danish playmaker’s current contract expires already in 2020, and Europe’s various top clubs are among the contenders for Eriksen, including Real Madrid.
Spurs have been interested in James for a long time – since the player’s times at Coventry. His confident performances in the Premier League only reinforced that interest.
Note that Maddison joined the Foxes from Norwich for £24 million
only last summer. Since then, James has played 23 Premier League matches, scoring five goals and giving five assists.
