Tottenham Hotspur put up with Toby Alderweireld’s departure in the coming summer, realizing that the defender is likely to go to Manchester United.

As you know, last season, Spurs were desperate to persuade Toby to a new contract. In order to prevent the defender from leaving as a free agent in the coming summer, the club was forced to use the option to automatically renew Toby’s existing agreement for 12 months in January.

However, Alderweireld’s contract extension until 2020 has a side effect. The fact is that Toby will be available for transfer in the coming summer at a fixed price of 26 million pounds.

According to the Daily Mirror, Tottenham have already resigned to the fact that the 30-year-old Belgian will leave the club at the end of the season. Juventus and Barcelona are showing interest in Toby, but United promise to be the main contender for the defender.
