Tottenham scored 36 points after defeating Leicester (0:2) in the Premier League’s 16th round.

The victory over the Foxes allowed the Spurs to gain 36 points in 16 matches – this is the best start in the club’s history in Premier League.

Tottenham scored more points after 16 matches only twice in their history – 41 points in the 1960/61 season and 37 points in the 1956/57 season.

Note that the Premier League was established in 1992. During this time, only 6 different clubs managed to win the league: Manchester United (13 titles), Chelsea (5 titles), Arsenal (3 titles), Manchester City (3 titles), Blackburn Rovers (1 title) and Leicester (1 title).

Mauricio Pochettino’s team is occupying third place in the standings after the 16th round.
