Stuani: Barcelona were interested in me in January

Girona’s Uruguayan striker Cristhian Stuani confirmed the information that Barcelona were interested in him during the winter transfer window.

Stuani admitted that in an interview with RAC1. Cristian said that he was very proud that such a big club like Barcelona was interested in him. Nevertheless, he didn’t regret anything and was glad to extend his contract with Girona.

It was reported earlier that the Catalan club was ready to pay €15 million for the player. But in the end, Barcelona loaned Sassuolo’s midfielder, Kevin-Prince Boateng.

32-year-old Stuani moved to Girona from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2017. In the current season, he has taken part in 21 matches in the Primera, in which he scored 13 goals.
