Former Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can lead the Red Devils by the end of the season.

The club from Old Trafford fired Jose Mourinho from the head coach post earlier in the afternoon, having not forgiven the Portuguese specialist for the disastrous start of the season and depressing atmosphere in the locker room.

In an official statement, the Red Devils announced their intention to appoint a temporary acting head coach until the end of the season, as well as the start of a search for a new permanent manager.

According to The Telegraph, 45-year-old Solskjaer can become a new manager of the first team until the end of the season. United’s legend is currently working at the Norwegian club, FC Molde, and only this month signed a new contract until December 2021.

The Independent calls another candidate for the role of a temporary coach – and also the former player of the Devils. It is about Laurent Blanc, who is on good terms with Sir Alex Ferguson and has a more solid coaching abstract than Solskjaer.
