The Slovak defender of Fenerbahce, Martin Skrtel, refused to go to Barcelona in the winter, AS reports.

According to the source, Skrtel was not interested in the role of a substitute player at the Catalan club. Moreover, Barcelona loaned
Colombian defender Jason Murillo from Valencia with the option to buy him out.

34-year-old Skrtel moved to Fenerbahce from Liverpool in the summer of 2016. The transfer amount was 6 million.

This season, he has taken part in 16 matches of the Turkish Championship, in which he scored one goal. The player’s contract with the Istanbul club is valid until summer 2019.

We recall that earlier Martin Skrtel played for Zenit Saint Petersburg, as well as for Liverpool.
