Ronaldo: I deserve the Golden Ball every year, but Modric’s victory is not the end of the world

The forward of Juventus, Cristiano Ronaldo, spoke about Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric’s victory in the vote for the Golden Ball.

“I think I deserve to receive the Golden Ball every year, I work a lot for that. But if the reward does not come to me, it is not the end of the world. The numbers do not lie, but do not think that I become less happy when I do not receive the Golden Ball. I play for one of the best clubs, do you really think that I will run home and start crying?

I can only congratulate Modric, he deserved it. But we will meet again next season, and I will do everything for that” Eurosport quotes Ronaldo with reference to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Modric became the first player since 2007, who managed to get around Ronaldo and Barcelona striker Lionel Messi in the vote for the Golden Ball holder.
