Los Blancos’ rookie Rodrygo will continue to play for Santos until the end of the season.

Real Madrid acquired the 17-year-old Brazilian talent for €45 million. But the player continues to play for his native club Santos so far.

It was reported earlier that Rodrygo might join Real in January already, but according to the player himself that won’t happen.

In an interview with the Gazeta Esportiva edition, the young talent said that he wouldn‘t move to Madrid in January. The transition will take place in July, exactly as it was written in the agreement that was reached between Santos and Real.

The player is completely focused on the game for Santos at the moment. This is a great club and all Rodrygo’s thoughts are with the team until the end of the season. The youngster wants to succeed in Brazil this year.

The attacker scored 8 goals and gave 3 assists in 35 matches of the Brazilian highest division.

At the recent Golden Ball award ceremony, Rodrygo was nominated for the Best Young Player of the year award, but the prize went eventually to PSG forward Kylian Mbappe.
