Real Madrid want to sign River Plate’s Palacios as soon as possible
River Plate’s midfielder Exequiel Palacios may move to the Royal club soon.
On Monday, River Plate’s sports director Enzo Francescoli said that any negotiations would take place after the 2018 FIFA Club World Cup. In connection with the Argentines’ departure from the tournament at the semifinals stage, the negotiations should be activated soon.
The Spanish newspaper, AS, reports that Real intend to complete the transfer as soon as possible due to the fact that some other clubs are also interested in the young midfielder. The player himself isn’t averse to moving to Madrid, but he wants to stay at the current club until the summer.
Real Madrid are expected to pay €20 million for Palacios, and a 5-year contract will be offered to the player.
The Argentine has played nine matches in this season, having scored one goal and given two assists. Palacios’ contract with River Plate is valid until the summer of 2021.
