Real Madrid want to sign Eriksen as a free agent

Real Madrid are ready to postpone Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen transfer until the next year to sign the player as a free agent.

Eriksen have become one of the most important players for Mauricio Pochettino’s team in recent years, but he receives only modest 70-80 thousand pounds a week and this amount doesn’t correspond to his level of the game.

Spurs were trying to persuade the 27-year-old Dane to a new deal for several months, but to no avail. Now, Christian has only one year left under the current contract.

However, the expiring contract doesn’t mean that any of interested clubs will be able to lure the player at a reduced price. They will have to deal with Tottenham president Daniel Levy and it’s not easy for anyone to negotiate with him.

According to the Daily Mail, Real Madrid are ready to postpone their proposal on Eriksen until August. However, if nothing happens, the Royal Club will try to conclude a preliminary contract with Christian in January to sign the midfielder as a free agent in the summer of 2020.
