Real Betis defender Junior Firpo can pursue his career at Real Madrid, says AS.

According to the publication, the Royal Club intends to activate the €50 million option of redemption, stated in the contract of the 22-year-old footballer. It is noted that Firpo will join his new team next summer.

At the same time, Real could face competition from two British clubs at once – London’s Arsenal and Manchester City. The Сitizens’ interest about the player was reported in early September. Unai Emery’s team is suffering from an epidemic of injuries among the defenders and is currently considering candidates for acquisition in January transfer window.

Firpo has taken part in 15 matches in La Liga’s current season, in which he scored 3 goals and gave 1 assist.
