Premier League: Manchester United 2:2 Arsenal – preview, line-ups, Live Commentary

Manchester United will meet with Arsenal in the classic English confrontation in the Premier League’s 15th round central match.

The Gunners are favourites of the meeting considering teams’ current shape. Arsenal have not lost in the Premier League for twelve matches already. Unai Emery’s team confidently sorted out with Tottenham in the North London derby in the last round. The Gunners have felt the taste of victory in big matches and want to take away 3 points from the crisis Old Trafford.

Manchester United approach the game against Arsenal with a bad mood, and not in the best condition. Mourinho’s players are achieving victories with great difficulties. United experienced obvious problems with the teams from the bottom of the standings in the last rounds.

Jose Mourinho is able to set up his players for big matches, but one thing he cannot build in the course of the season is to establish a line of defence. Manchester United have the most vulnerable defence, and Arsenal attackers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alex Lacazette can use this fact as an advantage. Pierre gained a fantastic shape and he, with ten goals, is the Premier League’s top scorer at the moment.

Marcus Rashford, whose two assists helped the Red Devils to escape from the defeat in the game with Southampton, risks missing the match against the Gunners. He had a minor injury, but Mourinho is optimistic. Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka will miss the game due to disqualification.

Starting line-ups:

Manchester United: De Gea — Dalot, Rojo, Smalling, Bailly, Darmian,  — Herrera, Matic, Lingard — Rashford, Martial

Arsenal: Leno — Mustafi, Papastathopoulos, Holding — Bellerin, Torreira, Guendouzi, Kolasinac — Iwobi, Ramsey – Aubameyang

Referee: Andre Marriner

90+7′ Final whistle! Manchester United 2:2 Arsenal.

90+6′ Lichtsteiner injured. The game stopped for a couple of mins. It’s over, we are waiting for referee’s whistle only.

90+3 Bailly is lying on the field. Seems like it’s over with 2:2 today.

90+1′ 4 minutes added.

90′ Arsenal scored a goal but Mkhi was in offside.

87′ Fellini fouled on Guendouzi. Free-kick for Arsenal.

85′ GOOD STRIKE FROM RASHFORD! But Leno was ready for that.

84′ Guendouzi and Rashford exchanged with a couple of strong words, Andre Marriner reassured the players.

82′ Marouane came out instead of Rojo.

81′ Fellaini is on the field too. We didn’t see that sub. So both managers used all their subs.

80′ Sir Alex Ferguson is at Trafford today.

77′ The teams forgot about the field centre. Some kind of football tennis. Dangerous moments from both teams.

75′ Sub from Mourinho. Pogba – in, Lingard – out.

74′ AUBAMEYANG! Perfect strike but De Gea saved!

71′ MOMENT FROM ARSENAL! Aubameynag failed to realize his 100%-moment!

70′ All right let’s figure it out with Arsenal goal first. A mistake from United’s defence and Lacazette goes one on one with De Gea. He scored but Bailly fell right on Alex so the Frenchman was injured. While the director was showing this moment to us, Rojo performed a good pass on Lingard and Jese scored – 2:2.

69′ GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! WHAT IS GOING ON? 2:2! LINGARD! The director of the translation completely missed this moment!

68′ GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! 1:2! LACAZETTE!

67′ Mustafi is looking injured but Emery has no subs left.

64′ Last sub from Emery. Iwobi – out, Lacazette – in.

63′ First sub from Mourinho. Martial – out, Lukaku – in.

62′ The game was intensified, attacks began to appear more often than in the first half.

59′ Another corner for United after Rojo’s good blow.

57′ Corner for United after a good counter-attack.

54′ Torreira is lying on the field. Seems like a little injury.

52′ Corner for United. Bernd Leno is the first on the ball.

50′ No subs from Mourinho yet.

48′ Let’s see what both managers will be capable for in the 2nd half.

46′ Substitution from Emery: Ramsey – out, Mkhitaryan – in.

46′ 2nd half!

45+3′ Half-time!

45+2′ Ramsey is on the field but he can’t play. Arsenal are controlling the ball to the whistle.

45′ 3 minutes of adding time

44′ Ramsey is out the field. Seems like it will be the 2nd sub from Emery.

42′ It’s amazing. 5 yellow card in 5 minutes. Nemanja Matic for a foul on Aubameyang.

41′ ANOTHER yellow card! For Bellerin this time. Marriner is on fire.

40′ Another yellow card for United player. Lingard. 3 cards in 3 minutes.

39′ Yellow card for Rojo after a very rubbish play against Guendouzi.

38′ Yellow card for Mustafi. And a very dangerous position for a free-kick for United. Let’s see.

37′ First sub from Emery. Holding – out, Lichtsteiner – in.

36′ Yep, Holding is out. Lichtsteiner is preparing to enter the field.

35′ Corner for Arsenal after a good counter-attack from Ramsey.

33′ Holding is outside the field. Medics are near.

31′ Bernd Leno performed a good save after Martial’s strike from the free-kick, but the ball rolled to Herrera who passed it to the penalty box right on Martial. The Frenchman wasn’t mistaken – 1:1. Very poor performance from Arsenal’s defence.

30′ GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! 1:1! MARTIAL!

29′ A very dangerous position for a free-kick for United. Martial can perform a good moment here.

28′ Mustafi struck after the corner and De Gea performed a terrible mistake. It could be an own goal.

26′ GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! 0:1! MUSTAFI!

25′ Arsenal are very confidently controlling the ball for the last 5 minutes. United are waiting for a chance to counter-attack. Corner for Arsenal.

23′ Kolasinac in offside. Good pass from Guendouzi but a little too late.

20′ Arsenal took the ball under control and created a pretty dangerous moment – no goal.

18′ Absolutely nothing is happening on the field. Very neat football with United slight advantage.

12′ José Mourinho has a very experimental squad. The Portuguese is forced to rack his brains due to the epidemic of injuries in the team.

9′ The teams are playing very carefully, it is clear that both managers decided not to take risks in the first minutes. Unai Emery, who relied on a quick goal in the last big games, decided to change tactics today.

6′ It is the first match between these two teams without Sir Alex or Arsene Wenger. Amazing.

4′ Starting minutes are held at a quiet pace, so far this match doesn’t look like the North London derby last weekend.

1′ Starting whistle!
