Premier League: Arsenal 4:2 Tottenham – preview, line-ups, Live Commentary

The duel between two London teams Arsenal and Tottenham will be the Premier League’s 14th round central match.

Arsenal are three points behind Tottenham in the standings at the moment, and the Gunners will bypass their North London opponent in case of victory. However, the Spurs are in fairly good condition right now, which is extremely important, because Tottenham hadn’t defeated Arsenal at Emirates since 2010 (the Spurs lost five times during this period).

Tottenham’s heavy calendar could help Arsenal: Pochettino’s team had a match with Chelsea, and then in the Champions League they opposed Inter, while the Gunners calmly beat Vorskla in the Europa League. However, Tottenham had outplayed such difficult opponents, which indicates only one thing – the Spurs are in perfect shape right now.

Neither team has important composition losses, and Arsenal, like Tottenham, are in good shape – the Gunners aren’t losing in all tournaments for eighteen matches. On top of that, this is the first North London Derby for Unai Emery so he clearly wouldn’t want to lose.

Starting line-ups:

Arsenal: Leno – Mustafi, Sokratis, Holding — Bellerin, Torreira, Xhaka, Kolasinac — Iwobi, Mkhitaryan — Aubameyang

Tottenham: Lloris — Aurier, Foyth, Vertonghen, Davies — Dier, Sissoko — Son, Alli, Eriksen — Kane

Emirates Stadium, London

79′ Double substitute from Pochettino. Son – out, Moura – in. Alli – out, Winks – in.

78′ Aubameyang returned the favour to Lucas Torreira with a beautiful pass. Lucas went one on one and turned that moment on goal. Amazing 3 minutes from Arsenal. Pochettino’s team is looking completely demoralized.

76′ Foyth’s mistake, Ramsey picked the ball and passed it to Lacazette at the free zone. Alex struck extremely badly but the ricochet from Dier didn’t leave a chance to Lloris – 3:2.

58′ It seemed there would be no danger after the pass from Ramsey, but Aubameyang with the first touch causes a powerful blow to the upper right corner. No chance for Lloris – 2: 2.

52′ By the way Xhaka will miss Arsenal’s next match against United thanks to this yellow card.

50′ Perfect strike from Kane! But Leno saved!

36′ It’s incredible how quickly everything changed. Arsenal completely dominated the game and everything went according to the scenario of Emery’s team, but the free-kick and penalty turn everything upside down in 5 minutes.

32′ Yes, a conflict between the players was calmed down. A few minutes of the game had been lost with this. What can we say, it is a derby.

31′ A little fight on the field after Dier’s very provocative goal celebration. Eric scored after a good free-kick cross from Eriksen and ran right to the Arsenal fans to show a hush-finger. Lichtsteiner and Ramsey didn’t like it.

29′ Sokratis fouled on Son – very dangerous free-kick for the Spurs.

28′ Teams are exchanging with positional attacks, but the danger is coming only from the counter-attacks on oncoming courses so far.

25′ The game calmed down a bit after crazy starting minutes. Arsenal weakened the pressure and now Tottenham are having some moments. Nevertheless, Emery’s team is still dangerous at the counter-attacks.

23′ MOMENT! Son again, good strike but from the Korean. No goal still, Bernd Leno is just perfect!

20′ Danger from Sissoko but the midfielder was offside.

19′ IWOOOOBI! WHAT A MOMENT! Good strike after the free-kick from Alex Iwobi but the shot was blocked by Lloris right on the line!

16′ It is interesting that Mesut Ozil didn’t get into the application for the game. The official twitter of the club reported that the German had problems with the back.

13′ MOMENT FROM ARSENAL! Aubameyang was dangerous again but no goal yet.

12′ Moment from the Spurs! A good counter-attack from Pochettino’s fellas, Son performed a strike but Leno saved – corner.
