Pochettino protects Foyth

Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino defended young Juan Foyth after the 4-2 defeat in the North London derby against Arsenal.

Having debuted in the Premier League against Wolverhampton last month, Foyth was responsible for two penalty-kicks against his club. However, since then the 20-year-old Argentine has rehabilitated himself in Pochettino’s eyes with a number of excellent matches.

However, questions to Juan arose again after the North London derby. It was Foyth’s error in the depth of the field that led to Alexander Lacazette’s goal, who eventually became a most important one for the Gunners.

Mauricio believes that many people are mistaken with the pass from the center of the field, when there are 50 meters to the goal and you can incorrectly calculate pass’ strength. The coach believes that it is very convenient to blame Juan for everything since he is young and not experienced.

However, if we forget about that moment, Foyth was Tottenham’s best player on the field. According to Pochettino, the young defender spent all 90 minutes at a very high level.
