West Ham will decide whether to offer a contract to midfielder Samir Nasri next week.

At the moment, Nasri is finishing serving 18-month suspension from WADA for a medical procedure prohibited for football players during the holidays in Los Angeles. Samir will be allowed to play football again on January 1.

The 31-year-old Frenchman has been training with the Hammers during the past few weeks, trying to earn a contract until the end of the season. Nasri’s chances to stay increased after Jack Wilshere’s injury relapse and Samir will soon hear the verdict of his former Manchester City’s mentor Manuel Pellegrini.

The Chilean specialist said that the final decision would be announced very soon. Nasri is working with the team and is trying to get rid of excess weight. He is still the same talented footballer as before, but he needs to get in shape.
