Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho refused to refute or confirm the rumours about his club’s interest in Napoli’s defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

A few days ago the Italian edition, Corriere dello Sport, reported that Napoli rejected the Red Devils’ €103 million (£91 million) offer on Koulibaly.

After a drawn match with Southampton (2:2), in which Mourinho was forced to use Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay as central defenders next to Phil Jones, Jose chose to avoid answering the question about Napoli’s center-back.

Mourinho said that he understood why the press was so interested in that issue because his team needed to strengthen it’s defense and Koulibaly was considered one of the best central defenders of the world.

Nevertheless, José couldn’t give any concrete answer to the question and asked the press to wait for the winter transfer window. Since Kalidou is currently Napoli’s player, it’s better to ask Carlo Ancelotti about his fate.
