UEFA announced on its official website results of voting for the Player of the Week in the Champions League.

Barcelona’s striker Lionel Messi became the best player in the first matches of the semifinals. Leo scored a double against Liverpool and helped his team to win (3:0).

In the voting, the Argentine went around his partner in Barcelona’s attacking line, Luis Suarez, and two Ajax’s midfielders, Frenkie de Jong and Donny van de Beek, who brought victory to the Amsterdam club in the game against Tottenham Hotspur (1:0).

The return match of the Champions League semifinal between Liverpool and Barcelona will take place at Anfield on May 7. The game between Ajax and Tottenham will be held at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam the next day.
