Lionel Messi awaits a difficult match against Olympique Lyonnais in the 1/8 finals of the Champions League.

According to Messi, Lyon form part of the strongest clubs in Europe. Yes, you can’t attribute the team to one of the top European clubs by the names of the players. However, Messi and other Barcelona’s players watched Lyon’s current and past season’s games and realized that the clash wouldn’t be easy.

In favour of Lyon’s strength, Leo also said that the team had been struggling a fight with Manchester City – one of the strongest clubs in Europe – during the whole Group stage. The French club even managed to beat Pep Guardiola’s team in the first match.

Messi understands that everything can happen until February, but, in any case, it is already clear that it won’t be easy for Barcelona to qualify into the quarterfinals.

Lionel admitted that he greatly respected Lyon since the academy of the club delivered the most talented players from year to year. Karim Benzema, Alexandre Lacazette, Hatem Ben-Arfa, Samuel Umtiti and so on.
