Mateo Kovacic told Real Madrid management about his desire to stay at Chelsea after the expiration of the current loan agreement.

Recall that this season, 24-year-old Kovacic plays in London on loan. The desire to play regularly pushed Mateo to change his club.

The Croat found what he wanted in Sarri’s team. Kovacic has taken part in 24 Premier League matches, becoming the main partner of Jorginho and N’Golo Kante in the center of the field.

Having tasted a regular game, Kovacic does not want to return to Madrid, where his prospects are still hazy.

According to El Chiringuito, Mateo hopes that since he has defined his preferences, the two clubs will be able to agree on the conditions for a full-fledged transfer.
