Manchester City striker Riyad Mahrez admitted that he felt like a newcomer in the team. The 27-year-old Algerian footballer moved to Pep Guardiola’s team in July of 2018.

The attacker admitted that it was very difficult to adapt to his new team in the first 6 months as he needed to get used to new partners, base, coaches. At the moment, he feels fine but nonetheless continues to feel like a newcomer in the team. Mahrez is sure that he will be able to play much better in a few months and in the next season.

Riyad has played 26 matches for Manchester City in all tournaments in this season, scoring 7 goals and giving 6 assists. After 19 rounds, Manchester City earned 44 points and are occupying 3rd place in the Premier League standings.

After two defeats in a row, first, from Crystal Palace (3:2) and from Leicester (2:1) yesterday, Pep Guardiola’s team fell behind Liverpool by 7 points and allowed Tottenham to move itself from 2nd place.
