United’s forward Romelu Lukaku is likely to miss next two matches for family reasons.

As the Daily Mail reports, Lukaku did not workout at the Red Devils’ base at Carrington this week. With the permission of the leadership, Romelu was away because of the loss in the family.

The 25-year-old Belgian, who has scored six goals in the Premier League this season, is unlikely to return earlier than Boxing Day. It means that Lukaku will miss the first two matches of Ole Gunnar Solskjær as United’s mentor – against Cardiff and Huddersfield.

Most likely, Romelu will return only to the home match against Bournemouth on December 30. In the absence of the performer, Solskjær will have to tap into Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford at the edge of attack.
