Nicolas Lodeiro scored his second goal of the match in the 96th minute as the Seattle Sounders won 2-1 at Columbus on Saturday to extend the Crew’s winless streak to eight games.

The Crew (5-13-2) has lost four straight and has seven losses and a tie during the stretch. They are 1-12-1 in the past 14 games.

Seattle (9-5-5) won for the second time in seven games.

Pedro Santos’ penalty kick in the 13th minute made it 1-0 for the Crew to end a 312-minute scoreless streak. Lodeiro drew the Sounders even in the 56th before he got his fourth goal of the season to cap the comeback.

He was on the left side of the box when a cross went off the head of Crew defender Alex Crognale for the unmarked shot.

The Crew started well as Santos took a diagonal ball from Luis Argudo and was tripped by midfielder Danny Leyva. Santos scored to the right corner for his fifth goal and his first regular-season score from the spot for the Crew.

He also had the previous Crew goal in the 61st minute vs. New York City FC on June 1, several days prior to him returning to Spain to be with his father when he died of cancer.

Lodeiro’s penalty kick came after he took a pass from Alex Roldan and was tackled by David Guzman. He is 2 for 2 on penalties this season.

Crew goalkeeper Joe Bendik denied Seattle the lead in the 65th minute with a full extension stop of Victor Rodriguez. Seattle came close again in the 75th when a Roman Torres header from a set piece hit the post.

Bendik made two saves. Stefan Frei had one for the Sounders.

Seattle had another opportunity in the 94th minute, but a free kick by Kelvin Leerdam skimmed the crossbar.

The Crew play at Orlando City on July 13. Seattle hosts Atlanta United on July 14.
