Lacazette brought Arsenal victory over Qarabag
Arsenal completed the Europa League’s group stage with a minimal victory over Qarabag thanks to Alexandre Lacazette’s quick goal.
There were nine changes in Arsenal’s starting line-up regarding the minimal victory over Huddersfield on Saturday. Laurent Koscielny entered the field for the first time in the current season. Another Arsenal’s star, Mesut Ozil, also returned to the team after problems with the back.
Arsenal immediately began to play in hosts’ manner and opened the score in the 16th minute already. Ozil found Alexandre Lacazette with a pass on the right edge of the penalty box, and the Frenchman easily ran away from the guardian and struck the goal from an acute angle – 1:0.
Qarabag looked like a team of dummies until the very end of the game, which made the Gunners much more relaxed. Unai Emery’s boys confidently kept the ball but attacked with obvious laziness.
The second half passed without memorable moments, except for Eddie Nketia’s canceled goal, as well as the deadly moment of the hosts’ 17-years-old youngster Bukayo Saka.
Arsenal won almost without straining, although one goal was too little for that kind of match. The Gunners finished the group at first place and now, along with Chelsea, are expecting the play-offs draw.
