Klopp: We don’t talk about the competition with City
Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp assured that there was no talk in the dressing room of his team about the competition with Manchester City for the Premier League title.
Klopp’s team regained its lead in the Premier League thanks to the 3:1 win over Manchester United on Sunday. However, there is still more than half of the distance ahead, so Jurgen prefers not to look back at the competition – at least for now.
Jurgen admitted that he was happy with Liverpool’s position in the table at the moment. Nevertheless, he assured the media that there were no talks about the fight for the championship or about the return on first line in the table in his team’s locker room before the match. He spoke with the players only about the importance of winning the next league game, that was all.
Everyone knows the results of the competitors’ matches. However, you can’t become a champion in December. All you can do as a team is to continue to score points. Klopp is fully satisfied with this situation at the moment.
Jurgen will return to this conversation if, at the end of the season, there is such a situation when they have to wait for the opponent’s mistake.
