Keown: Torreira is the best since Vieira’s times

Arsenal legendary defender Martin Keown admitted that Lucas Torreira’s game in the North London derby against Tottenham reminded him of great Patrick Vieira.

On the eve, 22-year-old Torreira marked his debut goal for the Gunners, scoring the finisher during Arsenal’s bright victory over the neighbours from London with the score of 4:2.

The Uruguayan’s game made a big impression on Keown, who even compared Lucas with Arsenal legends from the past.

Martin expressed the opinion that it had been the best midfielder’s complex game since the times of Patrick Vieira and Gilberto Silva. Lucas was good at defending and creation, he was literally in every inch of the field and in every moment.

Such a performance creates a sense of 12 players presence on the field. Arsenal’s former defender hoped that injuries would bypass Torreira as long as possible and he would help his team to return to Champions League.

The Premier League analysts also didn’t overlook Torreira’s game and recognized him as the man of the match. Lucas gets this award for the second match in a row.
