After the New Year, former Chelsea winger Joe Cole will return to the London club and work as a manager of the Blues’ academy.

Recall that 37-year-old Cole announced the end of his playing career last month, immediately revealing his intention to try himself in the managing field.

His former club, Chelsea, will provide Joe with such an opportunity. According to The Telegraph, Cole will start working at the Blues’ academy this season, following in the footsteps of Brendan Rogers and Frank Lampard.

At first, Cole will work with different age groups. Only from the next season, he will be attached to a specific youth team.

Joe made his first steps in the coaching profession while he played for Tampa Bay Rowdies in the United States. Cole also liked to work with youngsters in his free from playing football time.
