Henderson: Liverpool are ready to win trophies

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson recalled the pain of Premier League title lost in the 2013/14 season and expressed confidence that his team was fully ripe for winning trophies then.

The Reds were closer than ever to their first Premier League title in that exciting season, having achieved 84 points and scored 101 goals. Liverpool retained chances for the championship until the last round, but braked in the end and Manchester City didn’t give any chances.

Henderson remembers that period very well. Jordan was forced to watch the victory over Norwich (3:2), defeat from Chelsea (0:2) and draw against Crystal Palace (3:3), having received a red card for a foul on Samir Nasri in the match with Manchester City. That’s when the Reds missed their initiative in the title race.

That pain only spurs Henderson. The 28-year-old midfielder feels that Liverpool have become a different team now and they are finally ready to replenish the trophy room.

Liverpool’s current composition consists of the players that have been playing together for several years. There are rookies who have something to prove too. Jordan believes that Liverpool, at the moment, have the necessary class and skills to win the Premier League.
