City’s mentor Josep Guardiola said that his team would not play with its second team squad in the League Cup to stay fresh for the Premier League.

Guardiola complained that he had 15 healthy players at his disposal. Since then, the Citizens won Hoffenheim in the Champions League and Everton in the Premier League.

His team will argue with Leicester for a ticket to the semi-finals of the League Cup, while the main competitor of City in the Premier League championship race, Liverpool, who left the competition in the 3rd round, will calmly prepare for the weekend.

Nevertheless, despite the most severe schedule, Guardiola refuses to sacrifice the tournament, that his team won last season.
