Ferguson is behind Solskjaer and Phelan’s return to United
Sir Alex Ferguson returned to active work at Manchester United, having become an unofficial consultant for Ed Woodward and Acting Head Coach – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
As it is known, after completing his coaching career in 2013 and choosing his successor in the person of David Moyes, Sir Alex got the director position at Old Trafford but has already moved away from the active business.
The crisis, which the Red Devils faced with at the beginning of this season, forced Woodward to seek help from experienced Ferguson, claims The Sun. It was the great Scotsman who approved Mourinho’s dismissal and also organized Solskjaer and his former assistant Mike Phelan’s return to the club.
Ferguson remained in the shadow, but his activity has never been so high since the end of his career. Having made key appointments, Sir Alex isn’t going to fade into the background. He is regularly giving advises Solskjaer now. The Norwegian will become the conductor of Sir Alex’s ideas on the field.
We add that, in addition to choosing a new permanent coach, United should decide on the sports director position in the near future. It is expected that Ferguson’s opinion will also be taken into account on this matter.
