Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier underwent surgery to remove appendicitis and will return to the football field after the New Year.

24-year-old Dier wasn’t included in the Spurs’ application for the winning match against Burnley on Saturday (1:0), and the reason was found. According to the official statement of the London club, Eric complained to Tottenham medical staff about the pain in the abdominal area.

The England national team’s player was immediately sent to the hospital, where, after confirming the diagnosis, he successfully underwent a surgical procedure. Dier has to spend a few weeks of rehabilitation now.

Tottenham don’t name the exact date of Eric’s recovery, who has 13 appearances in the team’s starting line-up this season. It is known only that the midfielder will return to trainings in late January.
