Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian hinted at his return to Italy in January, saying that he misses his homeland.

Darmian was tied up with the transition to Juventus, Inter, Napoli and Roma last summer already, but Jose Mourinho preferred to save Matteo.

Since then, the 29-year-old Italian participated in three Premier League games only, and that situation continued to push Darmian to leave Manchester.

Darmian admitted that he missed Italy very much and Serie A as well. He understands that he is playing for one of the world’s best clubs but he still misses his homeland very much.

At the moment, Matteo’s main goal is to return to the Italy national team. Roberto Mancini has not yet called him, but the defender hopes to change this in the future.
