Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot said he wanted to spend a lot of years at Old Trafford.

Last summer, Dalot arrived to Manchester from Porto at the initiative of Jose Mourinho, who left United in December.

The 19-year-old Portuguese was considered one of Mourinho’s favourites, but Jose’s departure from the club won’t force Diogo to do the same.

Dalot admits that this season has taught him a lot. In the beginning, it was difficult because of injuries, Diego started to training only in December.

It was a rewarding experience. The situation, when he dropped out from the squad with an injury for a long period and then had to re-fight for his place in the team’s starting line-up, has taught the player a lot. He is stronger now.

Diego knew it would be difficult when he moved to such a big club like United. There is great competition in his position, but it helps him to become better. Dalot is sure that he can spend many years at Manchester United.
