Manchester City began negotiations with central defender Aymeric Laporte about a new contract on improved terms.

Last month, Laporte celebrated one year since his move to the Citizens squad from Athletic for £57 million. During this time, Aymeric has become the key player of the team of Josep Guardiola.

This season, the 24-year-old Frenchman has already played 35 matches in all competitions, being Guardiola’s first choice in his position.

According to Sky Sports, at Etihad, they believe that Laporte deserved an award with his game.
