City acquired the American goalkeeper, Zachary Steffen, who plays for the MLS club – Columbus Crew, Goal reports.

According to the information, Steffen’s purchase cost 7.5 million to the Citizens. The amount of the transfer can grow to 10 million if the goalkeeper performs successfully at the new club.

Though, Zachary is unlikely to play in England this season. The bosses of the Blue Moon intend to send the player on loan. The most likely option is Genoa from the Italian Serie A.

Steffen has missed 42 goals in 32 matches of the current MLS season.

The Citizens, having gained 41 points, head the standings of the EPL. The team of Josep Guardiola will play against Chelsea in the match of the 16th round. The meeting will be held at Stamford Bridge Stadium on December 8.
