City are working on extending Leroy Sane’s contract

Manchester City mentor Josep Guardiola announced progress in negotiations on a new contract with winger Leroy Sane.

Sane went to Etihad from Schalke 04 for 37 million pounds in the summer of 2016. Leroy performed outstandingly last season and was even recognized as the Young PFA Player of the Year.

He did not go to the Mundiale in Russia. However, the 22-year-old German has returned to his best form and is now close to receiving his reward.

“I don’t have any info about there being trouble with Leroy, the last info I had was that it [the contract talks] is going well but the process is not one day – Raheem Sterling [and his new deal], it was not one day,” Telegraph quotes the City manager.

Though, Guardiola said that the only exception was Kevin De Bruyne, with whom the club really had agreed on everything in a day or two.

However, normally it takes more time with others, so the mentor is confident Sane will stay at City for many years.
