Chelsea players confident that Sarri will be sacked in case of defeat against Tottenham
Some Chelsea players are confident that the club will fire head coach Maurizio Sarri in the event of a defeat from Tottenham on Wednesday night.
Recall, Sarri was on the verge of dismissal after being knocked out from the FA Cup from Manchester United last week. The recent victory over Malmo in the Europa League gave Maurizio an opportunity to take a breath, but then there was a defeat from Manchester City in the League Cup final.
What Chelsea bosses most certainly cannot forgive the Italian coach is a gap from the Premier League’s Top-4. Winning the Champions League ticket for the next season became an absolute priority for the Blues.
In this regard, the upcoming derby against Spurs at Stamford Bridge is a match of great importance for Sarri, whose team is currently only sixth in the standings.
According to the Evening Standard, there are doubts about Sarri’s methods not only in the team’s leadership, who is already making a list of available candidates but also in the locker room, despite individual players’ public statements of support to Sarri.
Players who don’t feel happy are confident that Chelsea’s leadership won’t forgive Maurizio a loss to Tottenham. There are talks inside the club that Steve Holland from the England national team will be invited to replace Maurizio.
