Chelsea may lose David Luiz

David Luiz’s future at Chelsea is under a big question because of the club’s reluctance to deviate from its age policy.

As it is known, the Blues’ policy is such that players over 30 can expect to extend their contracts only for 12 months, season after season.

At the moment, David Luiz, Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas are approaching their final six months under current contracts. The loss of the Brazilian can become particularly sensitive for Maurizio Sarri’s team because David is one of the club’s starting line-up solid players in this season.

According to The Guardian, 31-year-old Luiz is happy at Stamford Bridge but wants to get a longer contract from Chelsea, knowing that he could easily find what he wants on the side.

David will be able to listen to proposals from interested clubs from abroad already in January, which threatens Luiz’s future at Chelsea. However, the Blues aren’t willing to depart from the established rules at the moment.
