Chelsea made an official offer to buy Pulisic
Chelsea appealed to their colleagues from Borussia Dortmund and put forward an official offer to buy winger Christian Pulisic.
As it became known to the Evening Standard, two clubs made contact about the 20-year-old USA national team player last Friday. The Blues immediately voiced their proposal, hoping to persuade Borussia to sell Pulisic already in January.
It is also reported that Pulisic met with his club’s leadership a few days before. It is assumed that the talk was about Christian’s reluctance to extend his contract, which expires at the end of next season.
At the moment, Borussia want £70 million for their rising star. However, Chelsea will have the right to insist on cutting the price if the signing of a new Dortmund contract with Pulisic turns out to be impossible.
Moreover, Bundesliga’s leaders have already begun to look for a replacement for Pulisic, becoming interested in Borussia Mönchengladbach winger Thorgan Hazard. The midfielder is the Blues star Eden Hazard’s younger brother, for whom Pulisic can become a substitute.
