Iker Casillas went into the 19th Champions League playoff stage in his career.

Porto scored 16 points in the six matches of the Champions League group stage and made it to the playoffs from first place.

It became the 19th time when the Spanish legend qualified into the Champions League play-offs in his career. Casillas became the first football player ever to set such a record.

The goalkeeper failed to get into the Champions League playoffs only once in his entire career. FC Porto took third place in the group with Chelsea and Dynamo Kiev in the 2015/2016 season. Thus, Casillas was forced to be content with the Europa League.

Casillas was also the second player after Cristiano Ronaldo, who won 100 matches in the Champions League.
