Brugge will meet with Atletico Madrid in the 6th round of the Champions League group stage in Group A at the Jan Breydel Stadium tonight.

Atletico won four out of five matches, but they risk not to take first place in their group. In order to accurately leave Borussia out of work, Simeone’s team needs to beat Brugge, but where should they take the motivation for this fight? The players of the Spanish team understand that they will play in the playoffs in any case, that is why we shouldn’t expect a maximum concentration from them.

And what about Brugge? The Belgians were obvious outsiders of the group, but were able to take advantage of Monaco’s crisis and very quietly secured a place in the Europa League. This is an excellent result, which can be satisfied for the coaching staff and the players.

For the Belgians, the fight against Atletico is no more than a chance to test their strength against such a formidable opponent. Brugge lost to Simeone’s team in Madrid – 1:3. In today’s match, the hosts can count on more.

Possible line-ups:

Brugge: Horvath — Poulain, Denswil, Mechele — Vlietinck, Vormer, Nakamba, Diatta — Rits, Vanaken — Wesley

Atletico Madrid: Oblak — Arias, Gimenez, Montero, Saul — Correa, Rodrigo, Thomas, Koke — Griezmann, Kalinic

Referee: Davide Massa
